Albert Pike's Lecture On Masonic Symbolism & A Second The Omkara Publisher: Lewis Masonic Product code: N28312
Transcribed and Annotated by Rex R. Hutchens The Superiority of Freemasonry to every other order and association, consists in its symbols, chiefly. Albert Pike, Lecture on Masonic Symbolism The current Grand Master of Arizona, Ill. Rex R. Hutchens, 33° G.C. has done it again, and his new study of Albert Pike`s rare Lectures is now available. Originally printed in a private edition of only 100 copies each in 1875, Pike`s two Lectures on Masonic Symbolism have been some of the most sought-after books by Masonic bibliophiles. In his Introduction Hutchens` explains how Pike believed that early Masons intentionally concealed the real lessons and true meanings of Freemasonry`s symbols. Pike also noted a continuing decline in the quality of the Masonic education and decried the perpetuation of ignorance common in his time, and more common in ours that led to a disrespect of the teachings of Freemasonry by the intelligent and educated Brethren. Hutchens asserts that the information contained in Lectures is, in some respect, timeless. Thus, it is as useful today as it was in Pike`s day. Topics include such varied topics as the symbolism of the Freemason`s apron, the triangle, the five and six-pointed stars, the greater and lesser tetractys, the square, sacred words, and much more. This work includes the full and complete texts of both Lectures, which are fully annotated by Dr. Hutchens, as well as high-quality reproductions of all illustrations from the original rare editions.

Building Paradise:The Freemasonic and Rosicrucian Six Days Work by: Peter Dawkins
Product code: N30103 ISBN: 0862930103
Have you always had the feeling that Freemasonry has a great purpose beyond what is apparent? Are you ready to discover its true purpose? This book is about the work of one of the world's greatest geniuses Sir Francis Bacon great he was skilled in science, law and philosophy, but he was also one of the great Masters of Wisdom -- the Master who was the 'Elijah' or herald of the Aquarian Age that we are now entering in the 21st century. Bacon was the 'Apollo' of the Rosicrucians and the founder and first Grand Master of modern Freemasonry. As you will read in this book, Bacon's mission was to bring us a special Art of Discovery and to train us in this art, too. The idea is that we can also discover all things, all truth, in a beautiful, life-enhancing way -- the way of a true artist, to help manifest a paradise on earth for all people, all creatures, all nature, and all of life itself. It is extraordinary how Bacon left us -- centuries ago -- a particular method by which this may still be accomplished today.

Canonbury Papers Vol 2: Freemasonry in Music and Literature by: Canonbury Masonic Research Centre
Product code: N0590
Western music and literature have had some strong and clearly delineated influences on freemasons and likewise the ideas underpinning the Craft have found fascinating expression in various artistic forms from the earliest decades of the the 18th century, that formative period when speculative Freemasonry really began to flourish in most of the Western European cultural centres. These papers reflect that amazing diversity and, like those in the previous volume, demonstrate the clear impact in both form and content which Freemasonry has had in Western European culture over the generations. These papers range, in their subject topics, from England, Germany, Russia, France, Holland, Austria, Scotland and Sweden; the time scale represented here runs from perhaps the mid-15th century to the present time.

Canonbury Papers Vol 5: Knowledge Of The Heart by: James Robinson, Colin Wilson, Tobias Churton
Publisher: Lewis Masonic ISBN: 9780853182733
The Canonbury Papers Vol 5 The Knowledge Of The Heart: Gnostic Movements and Secret Traditions. This volume of The Canonbury Papers contains the twelve papers delivered at the Eighth International Conference, held at the Canonbury Academy in November 2006, on Gnosticism and related movements
Gnosticism, in its essence, is a heterodox form of Christianity that developed in the Second Century out of dualist schools of thought within the Church. These schools drew upon older and parallel religions of their day, and relied on revealed knowledge (gnosis) rather than on grace as the means of salvation. Although they did not survive the collapse of the Roman Empire, the Gnostics and their teaching became an integral part of the Western Hermetic Tradition.
The Gnostic tradition has thus provided a continuing philosophical and religious influence on later spiritual and esoteric movements, including Freemasonry, and most notably during the last two centuries. In recognition of this influence the conference sought to bring together such distinguished speakers as Professor James Robinson the worlds foremost authority on Gnosticism, Colin Wilson and Tobias Churton, together with prominent scholars from a variety of disciplines, creating a forum for new insights into the meaning and value of Gnosticism in both its classical and modern forms.

Committed to the Flames: by: S. Brent Morris and Arturo de Hoyos
Publisher: Lewis Masonic Product code: L82931 ISBN: 9780853182931
The History and Rituals of a Secret Masonic Rite. Between 1826 and 1884, Dr. Robert. B. Folger (1803-1892), a physician and Masonic historian, wrote at least three manuscript ritual books, two of which were in an obscure and virtually impenetrable cipher. Folger, who had a penchant for controversy, was concealing the fact that he was trying to import the "Rectified Scottish Rite" (also called the R.E.R. or C.B.C.S.) into the United States. The R.E.R. was well-known as a European offshoot of the mysterious Rite of Strict Observance, which claimed that freemasonry descended from the Knights Templar.
For the first time, all of Folgers ritual manuscripts have been deciphered in full. This dramatic and important book presents the full ritual contents of the earliest known English-language version of the R.E.R.s Craft degrees, as well as Folgers complete transcriptions of the Scottish Rite (Rose Croix) Craft ritual, with its installation and table ceremonies, and all seven degrees of "Egyptian masonry" (Pastophor, Neocoris, Melanophir, etc.), plus extracts from the American Order of the Red Cross and Knight Templar degrees.
The authors introduction places these degrees in their historical context, which occurred during the most turbulent period of Masonic history. Included is the cryptanalysis of Folgers ciphers and biographies of the principals. Folger was a man of curious contradictions; a passionate Mason, he was twice expelled from Grand Lodge, and yet died a Mason in good standing.
Join renowned Masonic historian and expert code breaker S. Brent Morris as he teams up with Arturo de Hoyos, the worlds foremost authority on Masonic rituals, on a journey to break the code and solve the secrets of Folgers mysterious manuscripts.

Compasses and the Cross by: Stephen Dafoe
Publisher: Lewis Masonic Product code: L2986 ISBN: 9780853182986
In the Compasses and the Cross, Stephen Dafoe, the author of Nobly Born: An Illustrated History of the Knights Templar, traces the origins and evolution of the Masonic Knights Templar from their beginnings in the middle of the eighteenth century to its present form.
Through the course of the book, Dafoe draws on his knowledge of the history of the original Order as well as that of the modern Masonic variant. Individual chapters will examine the various myths connecting the Templars and Freemasonry put forth by eighteenth and nineteenth century Freemasons including James Anderson, Andrew Michael Ramsay and Baron von Hund, as well as Scottish Freemasons such as William Alexander Lawrie and the Chevalier James Burnes. In addition to separating historical fact from masonic tradition, Dafoe also chronicles the differences in Masonic Templarism as it exists in Britain and the Dominion with that of the United States.
An excellent and thought provoking addition to the existing information on the Knights Templar which will be essential reading for all Masons and general readers with an interest in this subject area.

Dictionary of Masonic Terminology by: W.Bro Ravinder Singh Channey
Publisher: Bio Medical Publications Product code: N0594
I was born in antiquity, in the ancient days when men first dreamed of God. I have been tried through the ages, and found true. The crossroads of the world bear the imprint of my feet, and the cathedrals of all nations mark the skill of my hands. I strive for beauty and for symmetry. In my heart is wisdom and strength and courage for those who ask. Upon my altars is the Book of Holy Writ, and my prayers are to the One Omnipotent God, my sons work and pray together, without rank or discord, in the public mart and in the inner chamber. By signs and symbols I teach the lessons of life and of death and the relationship of man with God and of man with man. My arms are widespread to receive those of lawful age and good report who seek me of their own free will. I accept them and teach them to use my tools in the building of men, and thereafter, find direction in their own quest for perfection so much desired and so difficult to attain. I lift up the fallen and shelter the sick. I hark to the orphans' cry, the widows tears, the pain of the old and destitute. I am not church, nor party, nor school, yet my sons bear a full share of responsibility to God, to country, to neighbor and themselves. They are freemen, tenacious of their liberties and alert to lurking danger. At the end I commit them as each one undertakes the journey beyond the vale into the glory of everlasting life. I ponder the sands within the glass and think how small is a single life in the eternal universe. Always have I taught immortality, and even as I raise men from darkness into light, I am a way of life. I am Freemasonry. 112 pages

Remarkable, stunning is the only word to describe this new book - the superb quality of the illustrations makes the book a visual delight - author, designer and publisher are to be congratulated on producing one of the best books on Freemasonry I have seen in 35 years - Masonic Quarterly
With its ancient ritual, closely guarded secrets, arcane symbols and intriguing regalia, Freemasonry has fascinated for almost three hundred years - but the mystery has led to myth and often misunderstanding.
Drawing on some of the worldâs greatest collections of Masonic material, and including many objects never before published, this book offers a uniquely accessible and comprehensive picture of the organization. It covers the origins and history of the Order; the philosophy behind the Degree rituals; the ever-changing relationship between Freemasonry and wider society (including the role of women in Freemasonry and opposition to Masonry); the puzzles and mysteries associated with Freemasons; and finally a survey of the most prominent Brothers over time.
The picture is completed with in-depth coverage of the various Higher Degrees and affiliated organizations around the world, including the Holy Royal Arch, Mark Masonry, Knights Templar, and Scottish and York Rites.
With stunning colour illustrations and profound insights, this book separates fact from fiction, and opens our eyes to new, more fundamental, mysteries.

Publisher: Macoy Pub & Masonic Supply Co Product code: N30569
Here is a story which depicts the "human" side of the conflict. Many eye-witness accounts never before published and the quotations tell what the men of 100 years ago actually said-not what someone thinks they might have said. The author has blended two histories--Freemasonry just before, during, and after the Civil War, with the history of the nation itself. A great guide to Freemasonry and the American Civil War. Includes Index and Bibliography. Hard cover with dust jacket. 384 pages.

In Search of the Knights Templar by: Simon Brighton
Product code: N44334 ISBN: 0297844334
For the first time, a truly comprehensive guide to the mysterious sites of the Knights Templar in Britain.
Their existence was a meteor, which illuminated the age in which they flourished', Reverend G. Oliver, TEMPLE BRUER AND ITS KNIGHTS TEMPLAR, 1841 The Knights Templar was a military and religious order that dominated medieval Europe for nearly two hundred years until it was suppressed in the early 1300s. The warrior monks then disappeared from history into myth, their true nature forgotten and woven into fantasy. But the traces they left behind on the land can still be seen, and, with a combination of stunning photography, historical imagery and detailed descriptions, this book provides not only a history of the Templars but also the first comprehensive survey of all the Templar sites in Britain. The author has researched and visited every site; he explains what there is to be seen, and the history and mythology behind it - as well as directions on how to get there.

Maranatha - Et In Arcadia Ego Publisher: Priory Publications Product code: N93801 ISBN: 0954993802
It is a small, simple looking, light publication, purely designed to be carried around and worked on. It contains easily broken hieroglyphic pages and crude drawings, presented in a fashion to appear similar to those sketches drawn by the old hermetical scholars of history. Within this book, is a genuine secret, a 'Key' that has been kept hidden for centuries!
Using the simple code (that will be familiar to some of you already) you will be able to crack the puzzle contained therein. From restricted material a small group of Holy Grail researchers discovered not only the answer to what history has obscured, but also the evidence to prove it. In the attempt to find the most effective way to release the discovery, Priory Publications (GB) Ltd, now offers readers the opportunity to actually redefine history, and learn and discover the truth for themselves! By using their research and discoveries the authors offer the worlds most controversial and unique book.
The publication consists of only 80 pages, half of which is dedicated to the historic puzzle, the remainder is full of helpful information to help the reader along the way. The value of the book isn't in its purposeful rough appearance; its worth is that it is part of the most controversial series of books ever released. It offers the key to genuinely change history and a reward that is truly historical.

This book explores the crucial half-century of Masonic history when the craft fasioned it?s new ritual. The Secrets of Solomon's Temple by: Kevin Gest
Publisher: Lewis Masonic Product code: L82566 ISBN: 0853182566
We have all been told that Solomon was a noble and wise ruler in the ancient times, known for building the first great temple in Israel. However in the past 20 years a lot of our understanding about biblical times has changed. Eminent archaeologists have indicated that Solomon was not his real name but one given to him some time after his death. Furthermore, increased understanding of ancient languages has resulted in the correction of many translation errors of the past and changed our perception of biblical events. This reveals that what the church has promoted for several centuries may have to be reconsidered. With new knowledge comes new meaning.

The Magus Of Freemasonry by: Tobias Churton Product code: N71224 ISBN: 1594771227 A comprehensive look at the life of Elias Ashmole, who represents the historic missing link between operative and symbolic Freemasonry ⢠Explores the true role of occult and magical studies in the genesis of modern science ⢠Explains the full meaning of the term magus, which Ashmole exemplified Elias Ashmole (1617-1692) was the first to record a personal account of initiation into Accepted Freemasonry. His writings help solve the debate between operative and âspeculativeâ origins of Accepted Freemasonry, demonstrating that symbolic Freemasonry existed within the Masonic trade bodies. Ashmole was one of the leading intellectual luminaries of his time: a founding member of the Royal Society, a fellowship and later academy of natural philosophers and scientists; alchemist; astrological advisor to the king; and the creator of the worldâs first public museum. While Isaac Newton regarded him as an inspiration, Ashmole has been ignored by many conventional historians. Tobias Churtonâs compelling portrait of Ashmole offers a perfect illustration of the true Renaissance figure--the magus. As opposed to the alienated position of his post-Cartesian successors, the magus occupied a place at the heart of Renaissance spiritual, intellectual, and scientific life. Churton shows Ashmole to be part of the ferment of the birth of modern science, a missing link between operative and symbolic Freemasonry, and a vital transmitter of esoteric thought when the laws of science were first taking hold. He was a man who moved with facility between the powers of earth and the active symbols of heaven.

The Masonic Magician by: Philippa Faulks and Robert Cooper Publisher: Watkins Publishing Product code: N7685 ISBN: 9781905857685 Miracle-worker or man of straw? Count Alessandro Cagliostro was a cult figure of European society in the tumultuous years leading to the French Revolution. An alchemist, healer and Freemason, he inspired both wild devotion and savage ridicule and novels by Alexander Dumas, a drama by Goethe and Mozarts opera The Magic Flute.
Cagliostros sincere belief in the magical powers, including immortality, conferred by his Egyptian Rite of Freemasonry won him fame, but made him dangerous enemies, too. His celebrated travels through the Middle East and the capitals of Europe ended abruptly in Rome in 1789, where he was arrested by the Inquisition and condemned to death for heresy.
The Masonic Magician tells Cagliostros extraordinary story, complete with the first English translation of the Egyptian Rite ever published. The authors examine the case made against him, that he was an impostor as well as a heretic, and finds that the Roman Church, and history itself, have done him a terrible injustice.
This engaging account, drawing on remarkable new documentary evidence, shows that the man condemned was a genuine visionary and true champion of Freemasonry. His teachings have much to reveal to us today not just of the mysteries of Freemasonry, but of the mysterious hostility the movement continues to attract.

The Warriors and the Bankers by: Alan Butler and Stephen Dafoe Publisher: Lewis Masonic Product code: L82528 ISBN: 0853182523 In The Warriors and the Bankers, the research and writing team of Alan Butler and Stephen Dafoe bring their combined experiences to bear on the question asked for hundreds of years, What became of the Knights Templar? Arrested in 1307, dissolved in 1312 and executed by 1314, the Templars have been the subject of many theories concerning their possible survival. This book examines these theories against new evidence and information. Additionally the authors put forth, for the first time, a completely NEW theory that has caught the ears, eyes and attention of many readers. The ultimate conclusion is that the Templars did survive, virtually intact and that in a very direct sense, they may still be one of the most potent forces at work in the world at the start of the new Millennium. The Warriors and the Bankers is eminently readable and is intended for both the serious student of Templarism or simply the interested observer.

The author's study reveals that important megalithic sites in the British isles, nearly 1000 years older than the Great Pyramid in Egypt, were engineered to measure the long term movements of the planet Venus providing a time-keeping system accurate to a few seconds over a forty year period. This publication shows how a prehistoric unit of measurement, accurate to a fraction of a millimetre, is derived from observational astronomy and shows how it can be duplicated by anyone who wishes to repeat the experiment. 51 illustrations and b/w photos. 608 pages. Paperback.
